Cooking Classes
2004
Chef Michele Usci returned to the Toscana Social Club in October and November to deliver two of the most popular Tuscan Cooking classes "Bread & Pizza making" and "Fresh Pasta and Sauces". As in previous years, the lessons proved most popular with the public.
Students were instructed by Michele and the ladies of the Toscana Social Club kitchen in the fine art of making bread dough, egg noodle pasta and sauce making. At the end of the class the students and instructors enjoyed the prepared food and a glass or two of wine together. Overall a gastronomic delight!
2003
Six weeks of Tuscan Cooking Classes began in July, which turned all participants into culinary Tuscan food experts! All classes were sold-out as chef Michele Usci once again used his expertise to cook up an Italian storm ranging from Pizza, to gnocchi and fish all the way through to traditional Tuscan desserts. The classes included:
• Bread & Pizza making
• Fresh Pasta 1
• Fresh Pasta 2
• Traditional Tuscan Desserts
• Cooking with Seafood
• Tuscan Meat Dishes
On 15 December 2003 we proudly launched the cookbook "Il Mangiar Toscano" at the Toscana Social Club. The book is based on the course notes of 2002 Tuscan Cooking classes. The book was launched by Minister for Culture and Tuscans Abroad in the Tuscan Government, Assessore Mariella Zoppi. Guests where treated with a demonstration by Michele Usci on how to make Risotto with Porcini mushrooms and also sampled many of the delicious recipes included in the book. Many thanks are extended to the Regione Toscana for publishing the book.
Now all can cook typical Tuscan dishes at home.
