Bowling Nights

2007

20th May

On a cold Sunday afternoon the best thing to do was to go and have some fun at AMF Bowling in Northcote. 26 people were there to enjoy themselves with 2 games, finger food and drinks! This event is always a great success because we were donating our profits to charity. I Girasoli agreed to donate it to MS Society.

The team with the highest score was Aladino Mazzanti, Daniela Poli, Giuseppe Nicastri, Adrian Rocchiccioli, Annette Bianchfield and Luciano Rocchiccioli.

The Male with the highest score was Aladino Mazzanti and the Female with the highest score was Sandra Bartolomeo. The person with the lowest score was Rosanna Pirona.

Thank you to everyone for coming along and making a Sunday afternoon worthwhile for charity!

2006

At Northcote AMF Bowling Centre is where everyone put their bowling shoes and had a great time! We decided to donate our profits to Exodus Community Centre once again and raised over $300 for them.

2005

Greensborough Bowls is where we were at this year and we donated all profits to the Exodus Community Centre. We donated over $200 to the community centre and everyone enjoyed themselves immensley once again!

2004

2004 saw the return of popular bowling night to raise money for a selected charity and this year was no exception. On Friday, 6th August over 70 enthusiastic bowlers joined I Girasoli at the Essendon Bowling Club for a night of fun and excitement. More than three quarters of the bowling club was occupied by our bowlers of all abilities; young, old, beginners and advanced. The perfect scene was set for the night: music from the John Travolta classic “Staying Alive”, retro shoes and disco lights. There were laughs, screams, many STRIKES and even a couple of friendly fights.

Trophies and prizes were awarded to the best male and female bowlers and a battered Bowling Pin was given the person with the lowest score. Most importantly we raised over $500 for World Vision. The night was a great success and we will all look forward to a bigger and better night in 2005!

2002

In a recent presentation at St Vincent de Paul's Melbourne offices, a cheque was presented for $500 to Brian Dalton, the CEO of the organisation. This was the fruits of the 2001 National Charity Nights held by I Girasoli in Melbourne and its Adelaide counterpart. The annual 'Bowling for Charity' Nights in both Adelaide and Melbourne proved hugely successful. The Melbourne night was well-attended with everyone getting into the spirit of the night. Not only was money raised for this worthy charity but plenty of fun was had in the process. Our Adelaide friends hosted another successful event, attracting many members of the South Australian Toscana Club.

Mr Dalton expressed his appreciated to I Girasoli and the Adelaide Youth Group, which together form a National Young Tuscan movement. The funds will be put to good use on St Vinnie's many worthwhile programs. A big thank you to all those who supported these Charity Events.

This year, the money raised from the 'Bowling for Charity' Nights will be donated to those left homeless and poverty-stricken by the recent political turmoil in Argentina.
